This trip is suitable for any woman who enjoys yoga, paddling, and hiking. Yoga is an optional but substantial portion of the itinerary. Yoga sessions will meet a range of abilities from beginner to intermediate/advanced and we recommend participants practice yoga at least once per week in the 2 months leading up to the trip. Paddleboarding and kayaking will be appropriate for first timers. Hiking will be generally low mileage and elevation gain, but may involve navigating rocks, roots, and short steep sections of trail. A rating of 3 requires aerobic conditioning, such as walking vigorously up hills, jogging, paddling, yoga, or stair stepping for 30 - 45 minutes at least 3 - 4 times a week. There are typically 4 to 7 hours of daily activity. Rating: 1 2[3][4] 5
This trip cultivates wellness through daily yoga and meditation combined with active outdoor adventures and healthy local cuisine.
We'll spend the entire trip at a comfortable mountain cabin about 45 minutes from the Reno Tahoe International Airport. Full price spots on the trip are for a shared room with one other participant, with shared bathrooms, common areas and kitchens. There are 7 single supplements available with shared baths for $300.
Below is the proposed itinerary for the trip. As is true on any adventure travel trip, plans for any specific day may be modified due to weather considerations, unforeseen circumstances, new opportunities, and group interests.
It was an amazing opportunity to meet Anik Wild and hear her inspiring story.
My goal for this trip was to do SUP and kayak with some instruction and a group. Both experiences were wonderful. I now feel like I can rent a SUP or a kayak when the opportunity presents, even if I am solo. I also liked the yoga, the hike, the lodging, the relatively short drive times and the wonderful guides. This is the first AGC trip I've done that was not a hard core level 4 or 5 hiking trip. I will definitely consider another more relaxed wellness type trip in the future if it has at least one major activity per day with a second optional activity. I loved traveling in two normal mini-vans and not the big 14 person bus; a small detail but the vans were much more comfortable. Re dinner on the last night, I would have preferred a low key dinner at a locals spot or somewhere closer to the lodging as opposed to to the vibe at a Tahoe lake side establishment with a bar menu that was 3x larger than the food menu. It was not the right vibe for our group. PS my margarita was great but it was hard to talk which you want to do on the last night.
Small intimate group, wellness retreat, location, guides, women, and activities
Fantastic guides. Beautiful scenery. I’ve never been to this area before, so I was happy to see and experience this part of California.
There were only 4 participants - everyone got their own rooms, we all got to know each other better than if there was a larger group and both guides were amazing women that had different talents that added to our Tahoe experience.
I loved the relaxed pace in such a beautiful venue. It was a nice change from the usual jam-packed trip schedule.
