A great trip doesn’t just take you somewhere beautiful, it helps keep it that way. Here’s how we sustainably design trips at Adventures in Good Company trips—in ways you may not even know about.
We are passionate about nature and dedicated to inspiring more women to fall in love with the outdoors. When approached with respect and intention, travel can be a force for good, helping to preserve natural spaces and create opportunities for meaningful cultural exchange.
Sustainable Travel Starts Long Before the Journey Begins
When you think about sustainable travel, you may imagine a reusable water bottle or picking up trash on a trail, and those are absolutely sustainable ways to travel. However, at Adventures in Good Company, many of our most impactful decisions are made long before the trip even begins. From the partners we choose to the way that we design our itineraries, we are constantly making behind-the-scenes choices that reduce our carbon footprint and support the communities that we visit. Here is a peek at some of those choices that you may not notice at first glance, but that makes a BIG impact.
Planting Roots for the Future
At Adventures in Good Company, we believe that every step we take on a trail should help protect the places we explore. That is why we partner with One Tree Planted, a nonprofit organization dedicated to global reforestation. With every trip that you take with us, a tree is planted. While seemingly simple, each tree planted plays a critical role in restoring our ecosystems, supporting biodiversity, and building long-term climate resilience.
Choosing Ethical Travel Partners and Local Businesses
Sustainability isn’t just about where we go—it’s about how we get there and who we go with. At AGC, we partner with National Parks, local NGOs, and ethical operators who share our commitment to protecting the planet. This includes selecting vendors—guides, outfitters, and accommodations—who are B-Certified or follow socially responsible practices. Through these collaborations, we incorporate Leave No Trace education into every trip and ensure that the money you spend supports businesses that give back to their communities. Together, these partnerships help foster respectful exploration, environmental stewardship, and a more sustainable travel industry.
Acknowledging Indigenous Presence
Sustainability means listening to and learning from those who have stewarded the land for generations. We integrate indigenous knowledge and practices into our trips as a way to deepen our understanding and honor cultural traditions. We work closely with Indigenous guides and educators to create space for meaningful dialogue, whether it's understanding whose land you’re on through land acknowledgments, exploring complex Indigenous histories, or engaging with the modern legacies that continue to shape these communities.
Sustainable Travel Is a Shared Responsibility
Sustainability is woven into each of our trips, even in ways that aren’t always visible. From the partners we choose to the trees planted in your name, every detail reflects our commitment to responsible travel. And while we handle the behind-the-scenes decisions, your role matters too. Small actions like packing light, bringing a reusable water bottle, and staying curious add up to a big impact. Together, we can protect the places we explore and ensure they remain vibrant for generations to come.
