Women Backpacking | Wilderness Backpacking Trips
Wilderness backpacking trips are the best way to explore remote areas, to learn just how little you really need, to let your rhythms attune to the natural world. On backpacking trips the pressures of every day life recede, simplicity replaces busyness, and (re)gaining perspective on what is truly important in life slowly occurs. Backpacking can be a lifelong sport that, after an initial investment in clothing and equipment, is inexpensive. On our backpacking trips you learn what you need to have a safe and fun trip. And while we will always welcome your return, we want you to become as self-sufficient as you are interested in being.

The high country lakes, peaks, and passes of the Ansel Adam's
Wilderness/Yosemite high country are truly spectacular. Our 50- mile
loop takes us deep into the heart of this alpine environment. We'll
travel mostly on trail, and have the opportunity to summit several peaks
over 11,000'. In addition we'll top out over 4 passes, including Red Peak Pass
at 11,180', the highest trail pass in Yosemite. From atop the passes we have breathtaking views of Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada, in some
of the least visited areas of the park. This trip is a true Yosemite backpacking
classic. $1395 Rating: 1 2 3 4 [5]

The Appalachian Trail, while often rugged and remote, is designed to accommodate both people who want to hike the entire trail and those who choose to "section hike" it; that is, hike a new section every year. We continue our tradition of offering a new section hike this year in Vermont's Green Mountains. Here the Appalachian Trail shares its path with another famous trail, Vermont's Long Trail. These two trails journey together from the Massachusetts/Vermont border to just past Killington Peak. The terrain is a wonderful mix of rugged, rocky hiking and rolling forest trails. Join us as we return to enjoy another section of this great trail. $1165 Rating: 1 2 3

For those of you continuing, the opportunity of finishing Vermont is close at hand; and for everyone. crossing from one state to another is always cause for celebration. In Massachusetts we will be summiting the highest peak not only on the Appalachian Trail section of Massachusetts but in the state: Mount Greylock, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding states and mountain ranges. $995 (or $695 as an extension).
