A trip that is rated R requires basic good health but no particular physical conditioning. You can opt out of some of the activities on the itinerary and thus have a more relaxed vacation, or you can do everything we offer and be as active as you choose. This makes them particularly ideal for people who want to come with someone else who wants a different level of activity, and for women who are new to active vacations and uncertain about their own abilities.

Every day we can choose riding through rolling meadows on well-trained horses, hiking on nearby trails, learning how to fly fish, or swimming or canoeing on the lake. There is also plenty of time to relax: reading on the porch of our cabins, soak in the hot tub by the lake, or play pool in the lodge. Please register by February 25 so we can have the whole place to ourselves! $1695 (deduct $50 if you register by 2/25)

September 24 - 30: Autumn in the Adirondacks

The Adirondack State Park in northern New York is larger than Yellowstone and Yosemite combined. In autumn, after the summer crowds have departed, the invigorating weather and colorful foliage make this the ideal location for an active but leisurely vacation. In addition to hiking and canoeing, we'll take time to visit the outstanding Adirondack Museum and browse some of the many interesting shops. By the end of our week we'll have a much better understanding of this unique park, and the people who have made it their home. Maximum group size is 12. $1595 (deduct $50 if you register by 5/24)

October 22 - 29: Exploring the Low Country
Charleston and Savannah are both well known for southern charm, beauty, and interesting history. Less well known is the landscape in which they exist: swampy marshlands, sandy beaches and wooded forests. No trip to this area would be complete without spending time exploring both. On this trip we’ll bike, kayak and walk, in addition to touring a plantation, taking historic walks, and eating at some of the best restaurants in town. $1895 (deduct $50 if you register by 7/5 )
